2006

Excellent

After a turbulent year 2006 with a wet and cilled spring and a wonderful August, a perfect “Indian Summer” saved the vintage and brought us fantastic grape quality which is the basis for classy and expressive wines.
The winter was long and rich in snow and the ground-water table could recover well. Spring was mild and showed with lots of rainfalls. Bud break of the vines was in the long-term average and the growth continued steadily. Flowering of the vines in June was very good. The growth continued steadily. Flowering of the vines in June was very good. The growth of the grapes was constant and the small, thick-skinned berries

changed their colour fast. After an unusually hot July and a mediocre, slightly rainy August followed a wonderful “Indian Summer” and we could start harvest at Mid-September with wonderful weather. Because of the perfect weather conditions we could pick our grapes without one day of break. Small, thick skinned and totally sane berries with a very high ripeness awarded our this years efforts and even the yield was in average quantity. The wines are open and have aperfect balance between fruit and body.
