Blaufränkisch Joiser Kirschgarten 2011

Dark garnet with a dense core. Rich aromas of blackberry, bitter chocolate and woodsmoke. Concentrated flavors of wild berry jam and sweet cedar are enlivened by a refreshing spine of natural acidity and supported by tightly woven, robust tannins. Finishes salty, with a note of wild cherry. 91

Pinot Noir, Unter den Terrassen 2010

Medium ruby. Nose displays sweet cranberry fruit, toasted cedar and coconut. Medium-bodied and stylish, with intense red berry fruit over herbal underpinnings. Finishing with sweet extract and good length, the still rather tight tannins will require a few years of bottle aging to develop their mineral character. 90

Zweigelt Hallebühl 2011

Dark ruby with violet reflections. The bouquet opens slowly to display cherry, raspberry, damp forest floor and a hint of lemon blossom. Nicely delineated, medium-bodied wine with herbal berry fruit complicated by a note of cedar. Subtle acids and well-integrated tannins define the texture. Finishes persistent and refreshing, on a note of sour cherry. 89

Blaufränkisch 2011

Dark garnet. Aromas of black cherry and raspberry interwoven with minerals. Concentrated, crisp and nicely balanced, with bright red berry fruit lifted by a hint of citrus. Still youthful, showing abundant tannins. 88
